What is chip tuning
Chip tuning is the optimisation of parameters in the engine electronics program. The aim of the optimisation is higher engine power and efficiency, while retaining the flexibility and durability of the engine.
With turbo engines you can realistically expect between +15% and +30% more power and torque. With naturally aspirated engines the possible increase in power and torque is between +3% and +10%.

When designing engines, manufacturers have to calculate with large reserves. Their products have to meet different requirements, for example:
- work properly in different environments (frost, heat, humidity, altitude),
- different fuel qualities,
- increasingly strict environmental requirements,
- different insurance class limits,
- withstand different types of drivers and driving styles without damage.
Manufacturers produce large series of identical engines made of equally large series of identical components made within certain tolerances. So two identical cars from the same factory are not equal in power.
It often happens that a manufacturer has identical engines of different power in its range. Examples are the new MB A160cdi and A180cdi - completely identical engines, as well as 280cdi and 320cdi, VAG 1.9 tdi engines ...

Technology
The engine program is stored in the central engine control unit (ECU = engine control unit), and within it in a chip (eprom).
Our most important task is to optimise this program as well as possible. Programming and optimisation technology advances every day, and we keep improving so that we can offer you the latest achievements. For example, with the arrival of OBD technology the programming procedure became faster and more precise, and returning to the original state easier. Reprogramming is done via the diagnostic port intended for the service tester. On some vehicles soldering or opening the engine control unit is not necessary. The fact that in most cases our procedure is 100% reversible is of great importance for vehicles under the manufacturer's warranty.
Because of the OBD technology described above, there are two ways of reprogramming:
- BDM - for the very latest generations of engine electronics with a 5xx Infineon ST10 engine processor ...
- Classic programming, which requires soldering - for most cars up to the year 2000.
Equipment
The equipment you can find in our workshop is state of the art and covers the complete range of passenger, goods and light goods vehicles, and the devices use the latest possible software updates.
We use equipment from renowned companies, various diagnostic testers and equipment for ECU reprogramming from the renowned company CMD Technologies, SWITZERLAND.
Power measurement
Our workshop will soon be equipped with modern 4X4 dynamometer rollers for measuring power, but this is not possible at the moment due to lack of space.
At present we can offer the customer power measurement in cooperation with our partners.
Warranty
The warranty on our software is lifetime, and we guarantee for life only the software, not the whole ECU.
A warranty on the whole ECU is not possible because of the many external factors that can destroy an ECU and have nothing to do with the change of parameters.
The external factors that most often damage an ECU are:
- unprofessional repairs around the engine,
- possible overvoltage due to a faulty alternator and burning out of the ECU,
- welding on the exhaust system or the bodywork, which also burns out the ECU.
